Farmers Save Crops with Hand-Held Computers
Today the Great Lakes Cassava Initiative, led by Catholic Relief Services and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is helping farmers in Kenya and five other countries in Africa’s Great Lakes grow disease resistant cassava plants and monitor their crops with mini, hand-held computers designed by Microsoft.
