Guinea-Bissau’s House of Mothers
House of Mothers in Guinea-Bissau helps women and their babies survive high risk pregnancies. Voice of America published this story about the project.
According to the article: “One in 13 women in Guinea-Bissau die from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Only a third of babies are born in hospital. And one of every five babies born will die within a few weeks of birth.”
CRS is involved with Maternity Without Risk, which complements work done by House of Mothers.
