Prayer for Peace in Kenya
With the approaching March 4 election in Kenya we join with the Church in praying for peace. Our thanks to the diocese of St. Cloud, Minnesota for graciously submitting this prayer.
Lord, make us instruments of your peace as we share our love and concern for our brothers and sisters in Kenya, and especially those of our sister Diocese of Homa Bay.
From injustice and division, let them know your love.
From violence and injury, may they realize your forgiveness.
From despair and darkness, may they have hope.
From sadness and grief, may they know peace and joy.
God of compassion and peace, kindle in the hearts of all your children love for peace, and guide with your wisdom the people of Kenya as they prayerfully select a leader, and the leaders of Kenya as they work to bring about peace and justice in their land.
We ask this in your name, Lord.
Amen.

Our God is Yahweh Shalom (The Lord our Peace). Let’s sing this song during this time and remember we’re God’s instruments of peace. A video link is at the bottom. Shalom.
Chorus:
Lord, Make us instruments of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let your love increase
Lord, make us instruments of your peace,
Walls of pride and prejudice shall cease
When we are your instruments of peace.
Where there is hatred, we will show his love
Where there is injury, we will never judge
Where there is striving, we will speak his peace
To the millions crying for release,
We will be his instruments of peace
Lord, Make us instruments of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let your love increase
Lord, make us instruments of your peace,
Walls of pride and prejudice shall cease
When we are your instruments of peace.
Where there is blindness, we will pray for sight
where there is darkness, we will shine his light
Where there is sadness, we will bear their grief
To the millions crying for relief,
We will be your instruments of peace.
