Young Chocolatiers
In Peru’s Amazon district of Moyobamba, children are often seen working on the streets instead of going to school. With funding from CRS, the Christian Cooperation for Development (COCID) has helped put them on a better path.
The center provides nearly 100 children with tutoring, two meals a day, school supplies, and other nurturing activities. Older children take part in candy- and yogurt-making workshops. The fun culinary experience teaches them to market and sell food for a profit—skills that will benefit them long after they leave the program. Photo by Jim Stipe/CRS
